ELEMENTS: WATER

Before I studied film & photography, I studied biology & chemistry. Liquids were always my favorite state of matter because of a liquids ability to behave as a hybrid of a solid and a gas - able to be weighed and take up space like a solid but also able to fill the volume of a closed system or container like a gas. Of the liquids, water was, and still is, the most fascinating. This very basic molecule, H2O, is one of the building blocks of life and maintains life on Earth. It’s humble structure and unassuming presence can be still and calming, or tumultuous and commanding. The simultaneous variance and predictability that water provides continues to make me grateful for its existence.
